Who Handles Subdomains, The Registrar Or The Hosting Company?

I want to have multiple subdomains for my website. The domain registrar I am planning on using says they allow up to 5 subdomains. Since I need more subdomains than five, I contacted a hosting company. They stated that subdomains are folders inside the htdocs folder and all I need to do is create folders with root access.
So who controls the subdomains, the domain registrar or my hosting company (with root access).

  1. Your hosting company gave you the correct answer.
You just have to create subfolders under your root folder.
It has nothing to do with your registrar.

  2. Go to http://www.g-studio.net/
They can host unlimited sub-domains, and if I’m not mistaken, what you want is sub-domain like abc.yourname.com, xyz.yourname.com, 111.yourname.com and so on right? if thats the case, go there >> http://www.g-studio.net/ They can help you for sure.
    Hope this help! Cheers
