Do You Know Any Good Programs To Stay On Task On The Computer?

Somewhere around 80% of my homework involves our school-issued laptops, and I have trouble staying on task. I don’t have any temptation to go to games because the laptop’s built-in filter blocks them. I’m perfectly satisfied wasting time gobbling up information on The New York Times, CNN, or TIME’s websites. Spending three hours crawling Wikipedia (or even Y! Answers) is a breeze. I’m not looking for will power in this area — I want a program that FORCES me to stay on task. I mean the kind of program that plays demonic messages if you try to close it, that insults you if you try to type “octo-mom” into Google, and formats your hard drive without permission if you even go near the “Stumble!” button. Barring something that extreme, though, I’m looking for programs in the vein of BlackRoom/DarkRoom, which attempt to block out distractions.

  1. Ha Ha… I looked that up about 2 years ago. And i have OCD so i dont give up easily. But the only thing i got was leapfrog. So if you want help memoriseing your ABC’s then go for it. But sorry people dont spend time on things that you can do on your own.

  2. Nothing can force you to stay on task. Get some will power.
